Ingredients
- Chana dal- ¼ cup
- Chopped tomatoes- 1 cup
- Bottle gourd- 2 cups
- Rentio toor dal- ¾ cup
- Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
- Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
- Chopped garlic- ½ tsp
- Chopped green chilies- 1 tsp
- Grated ginger- 1 tsp
- Sliced onions- ¾ cup
- Oil- 2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Chopped coriander- 2 tbsp
How to make moghlai dal?
- Wash the dal and soak it at least for 30 minutes and then drain it.
- Take a pressure cooker, add tomatoes, bottle gourd, turmeric powder, salt and 3 cups of water and cook it till the dals are tender.
- Let the pressure of the cooker release on its own
- Once pressure is released then open the lid of the cooker and keep the cooked mixture aside
- Now heat the oil in a non-stick frypan and add cumin seeds in it
- Once seeds started to crackle, add garlic, green chilies, ginger, and onions and saute it till the onion turns to golden brown in color.
- Sprinkle 1 tbsp of water to prevent the onions from burning.
- Now add cooked dal mixture along with 1 cup of water and bring to boil.
- Garnished it with coriander and served hot.
