Ingredients
- Besan- 1 tbsp
- Oil- 2 tbsp
- Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds- ½ tsp
- Asafoetida- ¼ tsp
- Fenugreek seeds- ½ tsp
- Ladies finger- 1 cup
- Curds- ¼ cup
- Rentio tuwar dal- 1 cup
- Sliced radish- ¼ cup
- Drumstick- 1.5 cups
- Kokum- 3 to 4
- Chopped jaggery- 4 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Sliced banana- ½ cup
How to make Bhatia kadhi?
- Take a pressure cooker, add 5 cups of water, toor dal and cook it at least for 2 whistles.
- Let the pressure of the cooker release on its own.
- Now strain the dal and keep the water aside. In this recipe, we require only water.
- Combine the besan and curds in a bowl, whisk well and keep it aside.
- Heat the oil in a non-stick frypan; add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and asafoetida and fenugreek seeds.
- Once mustard started to crackle, add radish, drum stick, ladies finger, and strained dal and mix it well.
- Cover it with lid and cook on a slow flame for 4-5 minutes while stirring occasionally.
- Add kokum, curd-besan mixture, and jaggery, salt and cook it for another 5-6 minutes.
- Now add banana, mix it well and cook it on a slow flame for another 2 minutes.
- Now garnish it with coriander and serve hot.
