Ingredients
- Turmeric- ½ tsp
- Ghee- 1 tbsp
- Rentio toor dal- 1 cup
- Mustard seeds- ½ tsp
- Asafoetida- 1 pinch
- Curry leaves- 10
- Green chili- 1
- Dried red chili- 1
- Salt to taste
How to make lachko dal?
- Rinse the rentio toor dal with running water
- Now take a pressure cooker and add toor dal, turmeric and 6 cups of water and cook it at high pressure at least for 8-10 minutes.
- Let the pressure of the cooker release on its own and then open the lid of it. Keep it aside.
- Now with the help of sieve strain the dal mixture and set the liquid to make osaman.
- Transfer the solid form of it to the medium-size bowl which is your lachko dal.
- Heat the ghee in a small frypan and once the ghee is hot, add mustard seeds, asafoetida, and dried red chili, curry leaves, and sliced green chili. Stir the mixture until the curry turns to dark green.
- Pour this over the dal solid, add salt and garnish it with remaining ghee and serve hot.
