Recipe of tuvar Methi Na dhokla
- Soaking time- 30 Minutes
- Preparation time- 15 Minutes
- Cooking time- 15 Minutes
- Total time- 1 Hour
Ingredients
- Curd- 2 tbsp
- Chopped green chilies- 2 tbsp
- Chopped fenugreek- 1 cup
- Rentio tuwar dal- 2 cups
- Asafoetida- ½ tbsp
- Besan- 2tbsp
- Sugar- 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Fruit salt- 2 tbsp
- Oil- 2 tbsp
- Mustard seeds- 1.5 tbsp
- A pinch asafoetida
- Chopped coriander- 2 tbsp finely
- Grated coconut- 2 tbsp
Method
- Wash the dal and soak it in enough water at least for 30 minutes
- Now combine the toor dal, Curds, green chilies, fenugreek leaves and ½ cup of water in a mixer and blend a smooth paste.
- Now transfer the mixture in the bowl and add 2 tbsp oil, asafoetida, Besan, sugar, and salt and mix it well.
- Make 2 portions of the batter and add fruit salt to one of the portions and mix well.
- Pour the batter into a greased of 175 mm thali and spread it by rotating the thali.
- Steam it in a steamer till the dhoklas are cooked
- Repeat the step according to your need of serving
- Now heat the oil in a non-stick pan and add mustard seeds and sesame seeds
- Once it started crackle add asafoetida and sauté it for a medium flame for a few seconds
- Pour this tempering equally on dhokla
- Let it cool and then cut it into diamond-shaped pieces.
