How to make Paruppu Rasam with rentio tuvar dal?

It is a famous south Indian recipe prepared with rentio tuvar dal, blend of spices and fresh garlic.

Ingredients 

For the spice mix

Coriander Seeds- 1 tbsp
Cumin- 1 tbsp
Pepper- ¾ tbsp
Methi- ¼ tbsp
Red chili- 2 dried
Curry leaves- Few

Other ingredients

Ghee- 1 tbsp
Mustard- 1 tbsp
Cumin- 1 tbsp
Hing- a pinch
Red chili- 1 dried
Curry leaves- few
Garlic- 3 cloves
Tomato- 1
Tamarind- 1 cup
Chili slit- 1
Turmeric- ½ tbsp
Salt- as required
Rentio tuwar dal- 1 cup (cooked)
Water- 1 cup
Chopped coriander- 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. To make a mixture of spice dry roast coriander seeds, cumin, pepper, methi, dried red chili, and few curry leaves
  2. Roast the mixture until it turns to aromatic
  3. Let it aside to make it cool and blend to coarse powder without adding water.
  4. Take another Kadai heat ghee and splutter mustard, cumin, hing, dried red chili, few curry leaves and 3 cloves of garlic.
  5. Saute it well until tempering start splutter.
  6. Now add the prepared spice mix and saute it until spices turn aromatic
  7. Add tomato, tamarind, chili, turmeric, and salt and mix well.
  8. Add the cover and boil it for 10 minutes.
  9. Now add 2 cup of toor dal, 1 cup of water and adjust consistency.
  10. Boil it for 2 minutes until rasam turns frothy.
  11. Finally, add coriander and severed with hot rice.
