Ingredients
For the spice mix
• Coriander Seeds- 1 tbsp• Cumin- 1 tbsp
• Pepper- ¾ tbsp
• Methi- ¼ tbsp
• Red chili- 2 dried
• Curry leaves- Few
Other ingredients
• Ghee- 1 tbsp• Mustard- 1 tbsp
• Cumin- 1 tbsp
• Hing- a pinch
• Red chili- 1 dried
• Curry leaves- few
• Garlic- 3 cloves
• Tomato- 1
• Tamarind- 1 cup
• Chili slit- 1
• Turmeric- ½ tbsp
• Salt- as required
• Rentio tuwar dal- 1 cup (cooked)
• Water- 1 cup
• Chopped coriander- 2 tbsp
Instructions
- To make a mixture of spice dry roast coriander seeds, cumin, pepper, methi, dried red chili, and few curry leaves
- Roast the mixture until it turns to aromatic
- Let it aside to make it cool and blend to coarse powder without adding water.
- Take another Kadai heat ghee and splutter mustard, cumin, hing, dried red chili, few curry leaves and 3 cloves of garlic.
- Saute it well until tempering start splutter.
- Now add the prepared spice mix and saute it until spices turn aromatic
- Add tomato, tamarind, chili, turmeric, and salt and mix well.
- Add the cover and boil it for 10 minutes.
- Now add 2 cup of toor dal, 1 cup of water and adjust consistency.
- Boil it for 2 minutes until rasam turns frothy.
- Finally, add coriander and severed with hot rice.
