Kashmiri Dal Tadka Recipe

Ingredients
- Rentio tuwar dal- 1.5 cup
- Water- 3.5 cup
- Chopped garlic- 2 tbsp
- Chopped onion- 1 medium
- Chopped tomatoes- 2 medium
- Cumin seeds- 1 tbsp
- Mustard seeds- 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder- ½ tbsp
- Coriander powder- 1 tbsp
- Red chili powder- ½ tbsp
- Asafoetida- a pinch
- Salt- as required
- Oil- 1 tbsp
- Ghee- 1 tbsp
- Lemon juice- 1 tbsp
Instructions
- Wash the toor dal properly and soak it for 30 Mins
- Now take a pressure cooker to add dal with 3.5 cups of water and add salt, turmeric, coriander, and chopped garlic
- Cook the dal on medium heat a least for 1-2 whistle and then turn off the heat
- Now, in a small pan heat the oil, add mustard seeds, ½ cup of cumin seeds and hing
- Add remaining garlic and give it a stir. Once it turns to brown color add onion and fry them till they turn pale down.
- Now add tomatoes and pinch a salt to soften the tomatoes
