Ingredients


  • Masoor dal- 1 tbsp
  • Urad dal- 1 tbsp
  • Surti Vaal dal- 1 tbsp 
  • Yellow moong dal- 1 tbsp
  • Rentio tuwar dal- ½ cup
  • Mixed vegetables- 1 cup
  • Spring onion- ¼ cup
  • Chopped fenugreek- 1 tbsp
  • Chopped tomatoes- ½ cup
  • Green paste- 1 tbsp
  • Red paste- 1 tbsp
  • Tamarind- 2 tbsp
  • Ginger- green chili paste- ¼ tsp
  • Garam masala- ½ tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method


  1. Wash the dal and soak with enough water for the 2-3 hours. Drain it keep it aside.
  2. Take a pressure cooker and add dal, mixed vegetables, spring onion, fenugreek, tomatoes and 3 cups of water and cook it for 3 whistles.
  3. Let the pressure of the cooker release on its own and then open the lid of the cooker.
  4. Now take a non-stick frypan on a medium flame, when hot add green paste, red paste and ginger-green chili paste and dry roast it for the few minutes while stirring occasionally.
  5. Now add the cooked dal and vegetable mixture, tamarind pulp, garam masala, salt, and water.
  6. Simmer it for 5 to 7 minutes, garnish with coriander and served hot with browned rice.
