- Chopped fenugreek (methi) leaves- 1 cup
- Chopped tomato- 1/2 cup
- Chopped onion- 1/2 cup
- Chopped pumpkin- 1/2 cup
- Chopped bottle gourd- 1/2cup
- Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
- Salt to taste
- Drumstick-1/2 cup cut into 2 pieces
- Oil-2 tsp
- Rentio toor dal- 1 cup
- Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
- Curry leaves- 5
- Chili powder– 1 tsp
- Sambar masala- 3 tbsp
- Lemon juice- 1 tbsp
How to make methi leaves sambar?
- Take a pressure cooker, add rentio toor dal, tomatoes, onions, pumpkin, bottle gourd, turmeric powder, salt, 3 cups of water, and cook it for 3 to 4 whistles.
- Let the pressure of the cooker release on its own.
- Now take a deep nonstick pan, and combine drumstick, half cup of water and cook it on medium flame.
- Heat oil in another pan and add mustard seeds.
- Once seeds started to crackle, add curry leaves, fenugreek (methi) leaves, and mix it well.
- Cook it on a medium flame for 2 minutes.
- Now add, chili powder, sambar masala, cooked drumstick, dal mixture, salt, half cup of water, mix it well and cook it on a medium flame for 5 minutes.
- Cook the mixture and stir well.
- Now add lemon juice and mixed it well again
